Kevin and Katie Keys – America's Premier Husband & Wife Piano Playing Duo

Kevin & Katie Keys - Music makes me feel so good!
Music makes me feel so good!

When we play our music for ourselves, for each other, or in concert for other people, Katie and I do it for one main reason, and it is because playing music makes us “feel so good!” Listening to and playing music does that to people…it makes them feel good. It’s all about “feelings” and being emotionally moved by the music we hear and the music we play. We have a lot of music in our family and many of our extended family members, including our children Karson & Kylie, love listening to and playing music. Music can be the “glue” that helps hold and keep people together.

Our musical goal is to give people the experience and joy that we get from listening to and playing music. There is nothing else like it in the world. For pleasure and emotional release, there are people who enjoy other things like art, painting, sports, sewing, drawing, cooking, building, gardening, and other personal hobbies and endeavors. Those things are great to do and can be the perfect outlet for many people. But there is nothing like music to bind people together, countries together, places together, and give many people emotional support and bring out positive emotional personal feelings like nothing else can. We try to play piano concerts at places where people can get close to us and our pianos to experience the joy that we get from playing music.

What if the Worl had No Music

Imagine a world with no music. What would that be like? Animals, birds, insects and other life forms don’t “need” music but some do enjoy hearing it and feeling it in their own way, depending on the music. But most adults and children would have a difficult time being without music. Imagine movies without music, theme parks like Disneyland without music, TV without music, stores, shopping centers, and malls without music playing in the background, no music concerts, no music on radios or videos, no music at all.

Music can be and is used to motivate people to do good or bad things, and music can also be used to manipulate people or help people. But what if there was no music at public schools, no choirs, no marching bands, no bands at all, no singers, and no dancing because there is no music. Music is the glue that helps hold our daily lives and activities together. It is natural and beautiful. Nature is full of music. A variety of world cultures are very committed to and expressive with their local music and have their own style & flavor of music that helps identify them in a cultural way, in a personal way.

Music makes us happy or music makes us sad, and if used in the wrong way it can make people destroy things. It can focus our minds on hurting people or being mean to people. Music is not always good…but it certainly is used for good, especially to make us “feel good.” Katie and I want people to “feel good” when they listen to our piano music. We want to bring peace and joy to people’s lives through our piano playing and for people to have the opportunity of learning to play music on a piano, regardless of their age. Whether a person is 5 years old or 85 years old, it’s never too early or to late to start.

When we are playing our music at a piano concert somewhere such as our home state or anywhere in America, we want people to feel the music because it makes them “feel good!” That’s what we want to give to people who hear our music…good feelings! There’s not enough good feelings in this world and we want to get more of that out there through our music, through our special piano lesson programs, and listening to other musicians who provide similar experiences and create good, healthy feelings deep inside…because of the music.

Our brains love good music and we react to the music in ways that are healthy for our brains, our minds, our bodies, and our souls. We hope you will listen to good music as often as possible, share it with others, learn to play piano, and if you have younger children, give them the opportunity and encourage them to learn to play music on a good acoustic or digital piano. It helps bring parents & children together in positive ways. We can also help recommend a variety of good pianos that you can purchase if you should want and need a piano. We actually focus on some of the new, amazing digital pianos out there because they are excellent for all piano playing skill levels and provide built-in educational features.

Let music into your life in a big and impactful way so that you and your family can “feel good” and also have a healthy emotional outlet that you’ll never regret. Do it now and don’t wait. We only live one time on this earth so learn and play piano while you can. As I said before…Katie and I know that “it’s never too late” and it can change your life in some amazing ways. If you want more information on the good music we play, the type of music we recommend, and the acoustic and digital piano brands and models that we approve of, send us an email with your questions or comments. We appreciate you and hope you’ll have good musical feelings!
